Help Mark raise funds for Meningitis Research EGHC Home Page

Mark's report from the London Marathon:-

"I wasn’t particularly looking forward to running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon at the weekend, as I only had three weeks to prepare properly from the end of the HA Cup Final.  With considerably less training than before the New York Marathon and as the race was run on a very warm spring day, with temperatures in the mid 20s, it was a case of getting round safely rather than setting a new PB.  Plenty of runners were seriously struggling from just 9 miles into the distance and I was very pleased to get round in under four hours with an official time of 3:56.59.

The one benefit of the good weather was the effect it had on the amount of spectators who turned out, as vast numbers lined the route to cheer everyone on.  Since the weekend the total donations to the Meningitis Research Foundation have gone over my original £10,000 target and I would like to thank all those EG members who have supported me and have been kind enough to donate money to the charity."
