East Grinstead Ladies 3rd XI 4 - 0 South Saxons 3s

Sussex Ladies League Division 4

The 3rd’s travelled down to Hastings, looking for their 3rd successive win of the season. The team started well, putting pressure on the South Saxons defence from the off. This resulted in an early goal when Ruth Durban-Jackson delivered an excellent cross, which Kirstie Beedle slotted passed the keeper. EG went on to dominate the rest of the half.

The forwards and mid-field worked tirelessly and created scoring opportunities and only excellent goal keeping from South Saxons kept the score at 1-0.

The second half began with Grinstead in a determined frame of mind. This was rewarded when Kirstie again found the back of the net. The heat however began to take its toll, South Saxons came back into the game but the EG defence were unfazed and put a stop to any potential threat from South Saxons.

Grinstead were in control for the final 15 minutes of the game in which two goals were scored. Kirstie Beedle scored her hatrick, before Linda Parkin secured the final goal, resulting in a well deserved 4-0 win to East Grinstead.
