Men's 5s 1 - 4 Chichester Chipmunks
Sussex Open League Division 2 60 minutes of their worst hockey of the season saw the 5's hand the points to Chichester on Saturday.
Surrendering three first half goals, the game was all but decided at the break, and over when the home side added a fourth early on in the second.
Grinstead improved at the end, finally showing some of the promise of previous games and spent the last ten minutes camped in the opposing D. Scott Powell pulled one back, and Joe Carr and Kevin Hurrell both had good chances, but it was too little too late on this occasion.
Some solace to be taken, as other results in the league worked out favorably, so we stay 7th in a very tight mid table. Crunch game with 4th place Crawley next week could go a long way to deciding the season.
Team: Thomson, Nash, Thorburn, Carr, Edgerton, Taylor, Cooper, Powell, Storer, d'Urban Jackson, Gowen, Hurrell, Russell
Scorers: Powell
