Torrential rain had stopped most of the weekend sport, but the hardy junior hockey players weathered the storm at a three way tournament at East Grinstead Hockey Club.

Teams from East Grinstead HC, Horsham HC and Purley HC took part, many of the players playing in their first tournament. So heavy was the rain at one stage, the smallest players were nearly washed off the atroturf. Parents changed their children's clothes, putting on rain tops, then they all carried on.

The end results did not seem to matter and all the players thoroughly enjoyed themselves ... even if the parents had that 'what am I am doing out in this weather?' look about them!
