EG U14 Girls:  3 - 0 Teddington

Home Counties U14 Girls Development League

Another win for the U14 and this was a real top notch team performance.  A little bit of a struggle to get 11 girls to travel to London on what was a wet Sunday but I think the whole team really enjoyed themselves.  In warm up Teddington looked a little frightening – well organised and much taller but East Grinstead quickly took control of the game.

In the first half Tabitha made some bursting runs down the middle with good passing which finally paid off with a well taken shot from Gina but we were frustrated by the Teddington goalie who made some excellent saves.  There was great interplay down the wings between  Gaby, Emily, and Gina with great support from the back three Annina, Ellie and Polly. While Claudia provided a powerful prescence in mid field andsome excellent crosses into the D. Katy who had bravely agreed to keep goal was well protected and was happy to continue in the second half.

In the second half we dominated.  The whole team grew in confidence and we passed the ball well using the whole pitch thus cutting the oppositions defence in two.  Again we were thwarted by the Teddington goalie.  Two excellent goals one from Emily and another form Gina ensured a comfortable victory.

Special mention must go to both Petra and Autumn who had been recruited late and were both making there debuts for East Grinstead.  Petra ran herself ragged in the 1^st half and Autumn grew into the game making some excellent runs down the wing.  I hope both girls enjoyed themselves as they are excellent recruits to the club.

As a reward for victory we stopped for pizza on the way home which I have never seen consumed so fast.
