Saints 1 - 5 Lewes

Sussex Vets League

We arrived at Lewes with ten men which was not the best of starts. The first half was hard fought but alas the extra man for Lewes began to tell after 25 minutes as our legs began to tire. We went into the interval 3-1 down, though this did not represent a fair view of the game. Overall both teams were as good as each other and the Saints created several opportunities to score goals.

The second half was pretty much the same as the first with the Saints digging deep into their reserves to prevent the Lewes side from dominating. Tom had to leave the pitch after 20 minutes of the second half, as he damaged to finger in a collision with one of the opposition. Hope he is well and not out for too long as we shall need his skill and drive. The final score was I believe 5-1 to Lewes.

The men of the match were Felix for his dogged work in defence and Mike for his command and control of the midfield. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable and well humoured game.
